Rooftop Blues

I  walk  to  the  song  that  throbs  through  my  bones
And   I    bob   my    head   to    the   wind   that   moans
Sadness  sleeps   in   my  veins   and   howls   in   the  night
Disappointment  is holding  my  limbs, embedded  with fright
If  I  could  stand  atop a  building I’d  yell  and rip out  my heart
He  looks  in  my eyes,  explains;  we’ve  never  been  this  far  apart
